The Woskob Family Gallery is a space for contemporary arts and culture in downtown State College, PA.

The 2016-2017 Woskob Wall: Katie Bell

Brooklyn-based artist, Katie Bell, visited State College from October 3 – October 10, 2016 to complete a site-specific installation in the gallery’s lobby. This will be the inaugural project of the Woskob Wall, a new initiative that annually invites a contemporary artist to create a site-specific art piece in the gallery.

Bell’s physical, sculptural paintings are composed of found material. Assembling common building materials, Bell then uses these as ingredients that are tied, sawed, cut, thrown, and stacked together into three-dimensional compositions unified by paint. The resulting works are hybrid objects that speak to the history of painting while occupying three-dimensional space.
